Dear Carol – I am writing to thank you for your wonderful, inspirational work. I have been receiving your newsletters for some time now, and I must tell you that, although you didn’t know it, you helped me through some very rough times and provided me quite an education. I went through a painful breakup recently (I will spare you the details- it’s over and was an important learning and life experience for me). I learned from you that in spite of the fact that things may seem to be hopelessly out of your control on a downward spiral, it’s important to get out of your chair and try to change/create a more positive focus in your life away from the negative.
In other words, you have reinforced the importance of working with the cards you are dealt and not lament or work against them. Knowing what can control and what you cannot is important, but not always easy and can be a long, fitfull process. In my case I was able to offset the negativity of my breakup by focsing on work and my other relationships which I realized I was so blessed and lucky to have. Thank you!
