How Astrology Works

By Carol Allen

How Astrology Works?

According to Vedic astrology (the astrology of ancient India), the reason astrology works is that the positions of the planets and stars at the moment of your birth reveal the map of your life, and the results of your “karmas” from past lives.

(If you don’t believe in reincarnation, it’s interesting to mention that three-fourths of the world’s population does, and even many Christians argue that there are references to reincarnation in the Bible…)

It’s not thought that the influences of the planets and stars cause your experiences, but that they describe, measure, and time them.

Paramanhansa Yogananda, the great spiritual teacher from India and author of the classic book Autobiography of a Yogi wrote about this, saying:

“A child is born on that day and at that hour when the celestial rays are in mathematical harmony with his individual karma. His horoscope is a portrait revealing his unalterable past and its future results…”

The Time of Your Life

In ancient Vedic literature, the horoscope and the zodiac are often called “the kala chakra” or “wheel of time.”

It’s like your astrology chart is a clock that shows the timing of your life.

But instead of three hands (indicating seconds, minutes, and hours) it’s got ten – made up of your rising sign, Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, and Rahu and Ketu (eclipse points also known as “the nodes” of the Moon).

Because of this, a highly trained astrologer can know a great deal about the WHENS of your life – when you’ll have successes and setbacks, when you’ll enjoy good or poor health, and (no kidding!) even when you’ll die.

(I purposely haven’t studied that because I don’t want to be able to tell people such a thing. No matter what I’d see, there’s no good answer.)

And, of course, the clock shows the WHENS of your love life, too – revealing when you’ll have opportunities for relationships, when you’ll feel frustrated in love, and when you’ll marry.

“It’s such a relief to know what will happen and when, and what WON’T happen, no matter how hard you try…”

So your personal chart or “celestial clock” ticks off the events of your life.

Timing Is On Your Side

You can’t change your clock, but you can make peace with it and make the most of your life by understanding it. It’s such a relief to know what will happen and when, and what WON’T happen, no matter how hard you try…

This is why Vedic astrology is considered so deeply spiritual, and a vital part of understanding your place in the Universe.

You’re living with forces way beyond your control or understanding that are bigger than your will – and not your fault.

If you’d like to learn more about the timing and power of your personal life clock, check out a thirty-year report I’ve created called Cycles of Saturn – Charting the Ups and Downs of Your Life and How To Make the Most of Them.

How Astrology Works?

I designed this report to let you know when it’s NOT time for love… or when, if you’re already in a relationship, it could be sorely tested, and when these phases will end so you can stop thinking there’s something wrong with you or something!

(Knowing this stuff saved my sanity in my twenties and is the #1 reason clients come to see me. And they’re SO relieved to learn about it…)

It’s so empowering to know when this is going on and when it will pass – and what you can do to make things go much more smoothly during the bumpy periods. That’s the gift of astrology.
